Over last year, over 3.6 billion dollars were donated by immigrants working in Poland to their families in Ukraine. Mostly unofficial channels – reports Dziennik Gazeta Prawna.
The daily quotes the data of the National Bank of Ukraine. They show that Poland is the most important source of income for Ukrainian emigration.
“Transfers from the Vistula account for one third of all private transfers to Ukraine from its citizens living abroad.” NBU shows that last year the value of transfers from Poland increased by more than 16 percent. Transfers from Russia (the second most important direction of Ukrainian of economic immigration) were worth about $ 950 million. In 2018, they decreased by 28 percent – we read in “DGP”.
From the “DGP” article, we learn that Ukrainians are sending wages from temporary work.
– Domestic income dominated after deducting the cost of living in the country of residence and local taxes. In total, in 2018, it was 7.7 billion dollars. – writes “DGP”.
The rest, which the NBU calls private transfers, is 3.2 billion dollars. About a third of this is the income of immigrants living abroad for more than a year. The remainder are other transfers, e.g. previously accumulated savings.
